Permanent fixtures that make up outdoor living spaces are often referred to as the ‘Hardscape.’ These portions of a project serve to define spaces, mitigate slopes, and provide additional seating or partitions within an outdoor space.

Walls, Stone, & Paving

A typical aspect of most outdoor living areas is flat paved surfaces that create dry, clean areas for walking, placing furniture, and entertaining.  Examples include patios, sidewalks, and so forth. 

For a front yard, an aspect of the approach to a typical residence includes a car park or driveway area.  In evaluating a landscape renovation, it is good to start off by considering the condition of these areas that may exist but be inadequate or otherwise compromised or undesired.
